The appointment of Steven Gerrard as Aston Villa’s head coach has created excitement around Birmingham.

The former Liverpool midfielder signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Villa Park last week after joining Rangers.

He replaced Dean Smith in the leadership position following the departure of the now Norwich City boss.

Following his appointment, Villa fans have taken to social media to welcome the new boss ahead of his first match in charge on Saturday.

Birmingham’s LEGOLAND Discovery Center has joined the welcome in its own unique way.

The center has honored the Villa boss with a brick version in a Villa set with number 4 on the back.

The figure of Gerrard sits in front of a lego version of Villa Park and with a sign that reads ‘welcome Gerrard.’

“All of us here at the Center are thrilled to welcome Steven Gerrard to the Aston Villa family and wanted to show him a warm welcome, the best way we can know,” said the center’s general manager Amy Langham.

“He was a true leader of the Rangers and became a national football star in his time as captain of England and Liverpool. Our new LEGO minifigure by Steven Gerrard is our way of wishing him good luck at the club.”
